San Antonio, TX

  • 5 story 220,000 sq. ft. facility
  • Largest building at UTSA and one of the biggest classroom facilities in the UT System
  • Includes a vivarium, engineering research and teaching laboratories, as well as departmental faculty offices with a multi-purpose room

Arizona BioDesign Institute Building A and B
Tempe, AZ

  • Customer: Sundt DPR, a joint venture
  • Owner: Arizona State   University
  • Scope of work
    • Lab and office space for cutting edge research
    • The research will be interdisciplinary in nature with a focus on the life sciences, bioengineering, and biotechnology, inclusive of neural rehabilitation, genomics, molecular biophysics, neutraceuticals and edible vaccines, and nano-scale bio-optics and bioscience.
    • The design of the building includes open, flexible interior that encourages research collaboration and lets the building evolve to fit specific project needs.
  • Size:170,000 gross-square foot building
  • Additional Information:
    • The Arizona BioDesign Institute was named 2005 Laboratory of the Year by R&D Magazine.
  • Schedule Building A and B = 24 months

 



University of North Texas Chemistry Building

Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX

  • 3 story, 105,000 sq. ft. science building with offices, labs and auditorium space
  • Remote mechanical plant with redundancy (shares services to adjacent Science Research Building)
  • Mechanical systems include:
    • full service HVAC installation with 2 operational AHU's and a 3rd installed for future use
    • stainless steel lab exhaust (served by 4 fume hood fans)
    • glass piping waste systems
    • bulk, specialty gas and DI Water distribution systems


UTSA Health Science Center Children's Cancer Research Building

San Antonio, TX

  • 4 story, 100,000 sq. ft. vivarium and cancer research building
  • Remote central plant for chilled water and steam
  • Mechanical systems include:
    • animal watering
    • acid waste
    • multiple lab gases
    • 100% outside air and lab exhaust
    • heat recovery
  • A full interstitial floor is located above the vivarium and serves as the primary mechanical distribution point for services to the vivarium and labs

  • Scope of work:
    • Lab and office space for cutting edge research
    • The research will support interdisciplinary molecular life sciences research.
    • The design of the building includes upper floor laboratories and office areas.
    • This building has five floors inclusive of lower level vivarium and interstitial space.
  • Size - 168,691 gross-square foot building
