SAFETY

Behavioral Based Safety

Dynamic Systems, Inc. Behavioral Based Safety program is based on positively motivating safe actions and decisions by employees at all levels. Our behavioral-based safety focuses on worker behavior in direct connection with minimizing or preventing workplace accidents and incidents.

Our history has taught us over the years that not only are unsafe acts the cause of almost all workplace accidents or incidents, but that for every accident that occurs, there are many more unsafe behaviors that are not accounted for (ref. Frank E Bird Accident Pyramid).  Dynamic Systems, Inc. firmly believes in the use of behavioral psychology to promote safety at the workplace.

Dynamic Systems, Inc. safety practices and behavior is accomplished through careful planning and training of all employees and subcontractors.  Some of the keys steps are:

1) Observations made of employee acts in relation to safe or unsafe

2) Information is gathered to illustrate trends or improvement needed

3) Emphasis on decisions made (Coaching/Safety Recognition).  Our company safety program is an employee-driven continuous improvement process.

Specifically, the behavior based approach to achieving safety improvements is a process of involving workers in defining the ways they are most likely to be injured, seeking their input, and asking them to observe co-workers in order to determine progress in the reduction of risk behaviors.  Work hazard analysis, pre-task plans are just two of the procedures we use to help achieve our goals.
